PhD programs in Bonn and Cologne

PhD candidates do not need to meet any deadline and may apply throughout the year! We are currently working on a web based solution for PhD applications. Until this is up and working, we cannot process PhD applications. Thus, you are kindly asked to contact your potential supervisor directly. Please note that the BCGS currently does not provide funding for new PhD applicants.

The first step towards a PhD is to find a PhD supervisor. You can find information about research happening in Bonn and Cologne here; for more details including lists of the professors and research groups, please navigate to the departmental homepages of Bonn and Cologne. You are kindly asked to contact your prospective supervisor and send your application to them directly. Please note that the BCGS currently does not provide funding for new PhD applicants. We recommend to regularly visit this page for updates regarding open PhD positions or scholarships.

Candidates interested in the fields of optics / photonics are advised to visit the homepage of the SFB/TR 185 OSCAR: Open System Control of Atomic and Photonic Matter, a Collaborative Research Center of the University of Bonn and the TU Kaiserslautern.
